You bend down to the chest. It is not locked and you open the round lid carefully. Inside you find a length of rope, a candle and a bag of coins. You take the candle and rope out of the chest. The rope you coil over your shoulder, then reach back in for the bag of coins. The bag is very heavy as you lift it up and walk off. The passage is very long, dark and dirty. There is a light sound coming from ahead. It is the sound of water running. You keep walking. It seems to take forever to get through this passage but eventually you arrive at the end. The sound of running water has been getting louder all the time. You find that the water is actually a river in the bottom of a gully. It is too swift and dangerous to cross. There is no point in going back and after you look around you find that there is nothing else for it, you have to cross that river.
