You walk the opposite way from the hills. You reason that since you walked towards them to get here, then you walk away from them to ret back to the track. You are right and although you can't see where you are going because of the long grass, you can still see the hills behind you. Keeping them behind you, you find yourself back on the track again. You head North along the valley. You know that it is the way to what you think may be a town. You walk on and in a short time you can see the outline of several buildings in the distance. You feel lucky as you notice smoke coming from the chimney of one or two buildings. A little further ahead you come across a sign of hope as the track merges with a dirt road. The road leads right to the buildings and you notice two peop1e walking in between two rows of what looks like old shops.
