ANOTHER DEAD WOMAN AT THE HANDS OF NEW ZEALAND POLICE!
A woman has died in police custody after being found unresponsive in a Christchurch cell this morning.
Canterbury District Commander Superintendent Tony Hill said the woman was found unresponsive around 6.50am.
“Police immediately notified St John, officers also provided medical assistance,” Hill said.
“Sadly, attempts to revive the woman were unsuccessful.”
Police said it was making inquiries into the circumstances of the death, which will be referred to the Coroner and the Independent Police Conduct Authority (IPCA).

A woman has died in police custody in Christchurch this morning.
At about 6.50am, the woman was found unresponsive in her cell, said Superintendent Tony Hill, the Canterbury District Commander.
Police immediately notified St John, while officers provided medical help.

Police were making inquiries into the circumstances of the death, which would be referred to the Coroner and the Independent Police Conduct Authority (IPCA).
Last week, RNZ reported a Christchurch 15-year-old boy, who had ADHD and mental health issues, spent six nights in a police cell after being charged with burglary.
The boy, who had an extensive criminal history, was arrested last Thursday and charged with burglary after allegedly damaging a property with a group of older teenagers.
His mother said he was being transferred to an Oranga Tamariki youth justice residence on Wednesday, as a place had become free, but she was furious he had been held in a police cell so long.
