A man has appeared in court charged in relation to an alleged fight at a Westport motel where a 31-year-old man was found critically injured.
Emergency services were called to the scene at the Palm Court Motel about 3.10pm on Thursday, where they found the victim who would later die in hospital.
The victim, named as Dylan Coleman, had been flown to Greymouth Hospital where he died shortly before midnight, police said in a statement on Friday morning.
